Why is the tiger blind? The tiger has to be blind because it is the only way beer can be sold as an exchange for the curiosities of the exhibition of an animal oddity. This is how America bars survive during the Prohibition era.
When we established our bar, it was at a time where Thailand was like a dry country. Dry country to the eyes of small and creative local brewers who have to brew overseas and import back to their own country to sell to their next-door neighbors. Dry country to the bar's owners who wants to express the creativity of beers these local brewers have put their efforts into.
The Blind Tiger was set up with the goal to support and spread the custom of drinking beer as how a wine connoisseur would drink wine. We believe that if Thai people are more accustomed to casual drinking and enjoying the craft beer as it is supposed to be, with enough support and understanding, Thai law will eventually allow small brewers to brew locally and Thailand will be fill up with locally brewed good tasting beers.
